Directed by Ty Evans, WE ARE BLOOD stars Paul Rodriguez as he and other top skateboarders travel the world pushing the limits of what’s possible on a board and celebrating the unifying passion and unconditional bond created by the simple act of skateboarding.

WE ARE BLOOD was filmed in international skateboarding hotspots including Spain and China, as well as on a classic road trip across the United States. The team visited a newer pin on the skateboarding map, stopping in Dubai thanks to the support of film sponsor XDubai.


I am going to be analysing we are bloods section of them in Dubai. Dubai is 40 minutes away from Qatar on a plane and look alike. I want to try and recreate the same kind of visual effect as they have done in 'we are blood'. Unfortunately i don't have access to the cameras they have used like the RED allowing them to capture amazing slow motion. 

I like how they have an intro that establishes the setting in the Dubai section of 'we are blood', i feel they have managed to capture skateboarding in Dubai and also the cinematic establishing shots. It also captures the wealth of the country by showing their exotic cars. It also shows the souq which is an open air market place found in western Asia and northern african cities. Continuity editing is used extremely well and feels like you flow through the city.

I also really like how the silhouette of the city with a blood like sunset. It emphasises the desert location and i want to do the same with mine.
